Tallow contains high concentrations of vitamins and antioxidants such as vitamins A, D, E and K. Its fatty acid composition closely mimics the natural oils of human skin, providing deep, nourishing moisture without clogging pores.

We render our own tallow using suet that is 100% grass fed & grass finished from pasture raised cows from the Kootenays. We render the suet once, using the dry render method and by using the lowest heat possible to render into tallow. This labour-intensive and time-consuming process creates a profound nutrient dense product that can be applied onto the skin.

What is behind the name Audhumla?

In the rich tapestry of Norse mythology, where gods, giants, and mythical beings abound, there exists a lesser-known but significant figure named Audhumla (the nourisher.

Described as a primeval cow, Audhumla nourished herself by licking the salty ice that surrounded her. Her actions gradually uncovered Buri, the first god and progenitor of the Aesir gods. Thus, Audhumla’s simple act of nourishment gave birth to the gods and set the stage for the creation of the cosmos.
